What is the Community Care Services Program?

The CCSP is a program designed to offer Medicaid assistance to those who can safely and cost-effectively live in their own homes instead of a care facility. This allows participants to remain in the home they love while receiving medical care from providers that they like.

Services provided through the CCSP include:

  • Case management services
  • Adult day care
  • Meal delivery services
  • In-home medical care, including nursing and physical therapy
  • Personal support for errands, housekeeping and hygiene
  • Respite care to ease the burden on families

Who qualifies for the CCSP?

Applicants for this program must meet income and health requirements like those placed on Medicaid recipients living in nursing homes. First, applicants must face functional limitations that require care similar to that offered in a nursing facility.

Applicants must also meet financial requirements to qualify for the CCSP. Applicants cannot earn more than $2,349 per month, and non-applicant spouses cannot earn more than $3,216 per month. In addition, applicants must meet strict resource limits.

Finally, applicants must show that their in-home care would cost less than residential care in a nursing home.
